Come and enjoy the many walks straight from our door into the Wye Valley or Forest of Dean. Or visit the many castles, abbeys and historic border towns that are near us.
Bath, Brecon, Bristol, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Ross-on-Wye and Hereford are all less than an hour away. Hay on Wye, Birmingham, Ludlow, Oxford and Stratford upon Avon are easily reached for a day's outing.
But there is a lot to do close to Steep Meadow
- visit Tintern Abbey (climb the 365 steps up to Eagle's Nest, a viewpoint overlooking Tintern Abbey!)
- walk around Staunton, taking in the ancient church, the wells, the pound,The Buckstone, the Frog's mouth and other excitements
- or the castles of Chepstow, Goodrich, Raglan and White Castle
- explore a sculpture trail at Beechenhurst
- visit Symond's Yat
- enjoy the beauty of the many Forest walks

- go cycling - we have bike washing facilities and secure bike storage if you bring your own bikes or you can hire bikes at Pedalabikeaway who have bases in the Forest and Monmouth
