Pets

At Steep Meadow we have two small rescue dogs, two rescue cats, goats, pigs and chickens. Some of
the chickens wander about the garden.

Dogs - we welcome one well behaved dog but because of the animals at Steep Meadow, we ask that it be kept on a lead at all times and never ever be left unattended.

Please do not allow your dog on the bed or other furniture. It will need to bring its own bed and sleep in it.

Unfortunately it is possible that even the best behaved dog in the world can have an accident when staying in a unfamiliar place. Please if this should occur that you use the sparkling mineral water and cloth kept in on the shelf in the wardrobe in a plastic bag - immediately.

Please towel dry your dog if it is wet and wipe its paws before taking it into the bedroom – we have a good supply of dog towels for your use.

We charge £5.00 for a dog to cover the extra cleaning invovled.

If your dog does not come into the house and sleeps in your car of course there is no charge.

There are many walks straight from our door that dogs will enjoy - around the Common and into the woods. The paths are mainly forest tracks so you will need stout shoes.
The lane outside our house is tarmac and has very little traffic on it and leads to the top of the meend where there is a good view for you and plenty of grassy space for you dog.
If you would like to give your dog an off the lead run then it is best to head into the woods on the forest tracks.

Rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals can be kept in their cages in the garage or shed.
