Dogs - we welcome one well behaved dog but because of the animals at Steep Meadow, we ask that it be kept on a lead at all times and never be left unattended.
Please do not allow your dog on the bed or other furniture. It will need to bring its own bed and sleep in it. Beech Garden Room is an ideal place to stay with your dog. It has a dog lobby where your dog can sleep if you prefer not to have it in your bedroom and a little garden where you can all sit out. John is also building a dog shower so that when your dog has enjoyed the delights of the common and/or local woods and ponds he/she can be easily cleaned with the minimum of fuss.
We charge £5.00 per visit for a dog to cover the extra cleaning involved.
If your dog does not come into the house and sleeps in your car of course there is no charge.
Dog Walks There are many walks straight from our door that dogs will enjoy - around the Common and into the woods.
The lane outside our house is tarmac and has very little traffic on it and leads to the top of the Meend where there is a good view for you and plenty of grassy space for your dog to run about.
If you would like to give your dog an off the lead run then it is best to head into the woods on the forest tracks where your dog can enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the countryside.
