Steep Meadow is set on a hill above the village of Staunton in Gloucestershire just 3 miles from the Welsh border town of Monmouth and three miles from the Gloucestershire town of Coleford off the A4136.
It is in the Wye Valley and the Royal Forest of Dean, one of England's last remaining ancient forests set between the River Severn and River Wye.

This is the lane past our house, it is a single track road with passing places and is signposted as a no through road as the road stops when it gets to the top of the Common or Meend.
